With the ancient Irish tradition of Halloween upon us, it’s fitting to honour a legend in Toronto’s Irish community.
Arriving in Toronto, from Dublin, on Halloween, October 31st, 1954, Peggy Delaney and her two children joined husband and father,
Cormac, who had relocated months earlier, to start a new life.
My 83-minute biopic on this remarkable woman, who was also my mother, made its big-screen debut for an audience of nearly 300 people.
It screened once more in March 2025 as an official selection of the Toronto Irish Film Festival.
I invite you to see the film, now online for the first time! I hope you enjoy it.
